Updated Stamp to have invisible background.

The one thing I hate about the so called proper way to present a dog is to have its tail docked. What the hell are people thinking? How would they like to have their toes docked as babies or maybe an ear or remove an eye? People really need to look at what the hell Tail Docking is about.
It's been a thing that has pissed me off for years. To me its animal cruelty! How dare people cut off something that is natural and supposed to be there. People use the excuse of oh its for health reasons, or its for the breed. Well excuse me but animals have been here for millions of years without having to worry about health reasons with their tail. It's a means of expression and communication.

So for those of you who support my no tail docking stamp please use it. We need more people making this butchering of our fellow 4 legged friends ILLEGAL! And if you can make one that looks better please do so and spread the word!

I think many dog breeds that have their tails docked look better with them not docked.
Though I can't say I agree with not fixing their pets. That CAN come health problems (a friend of mine had that happen to her cat, but thats another story), and irresponsible pet owners can often lead to a problem when they get unwanted puppies/kittens.

I agree that dog breeds that have their tails look much better :)
I also agree that spay and neuter is a must have when it comes to very irresponsible people. But if people are responsible then theres probably no need for it.

I understand yail docking for some breeds. My Ex-GFs Boxer wagged it's tail so hard into a counter top she broke it and didn't notice untill she had calmed down. It broke my Gfs heart but in the end her dog was happier.

She still wags that tail like nobodies business whenever someone pops round.

Also my own Dog is the best dog in the world, loving, obident always there when you need him and sometimes when you don't! :P But without his nuts being removed he would be completely out of his head and wild, when we bought him he leaped nearly 7 feet and got stuck in a chain link fence.

Granted, he is a rescue dog and you HAVE to get that done. But it worked in our favour.

I don't do this to be cruel. I just think nature can be a bitch sometimes. For example, Boxers are well known for developing mental problems, Bulldogs respitory problems and Allsations/German Shepards leg paralysis. My take on the debate is that sometimes It's better to get the tail docked for the sake of the dog. Not because it "looks" better.

I was just discussing this with a photographer from Finland where tail docking is illegal. In multiple photos of his he had his rottweiler with it's long tail and i commented about leaving its tail like that, because i like rotties with long tails :)

We got into a conversation saying how mean it is to the dog and how that the US should make it illegal unless it is a health hazard.

aw. i love dogs, and have worked and studied them for years, but i could never support making docking illegal. it can't be compared to cutting toes off. its nowhere near as dangerous or wrong. i (shockingly) personally support both docking and cropping, even though i know alot of animal lovers dont. however i am an animal lover myself, and a huge fan of dogs (as well as a dog trainer). theres just so much worse that is being done to dogs, that cosmetic surgeries are nothing. if cropping was made illegal, the only difference is that only outlaws would crop their dogs, instead of vets and experts. due to my experience with bans and thier highly negative outcomes, i could never support making docking illegal. it would do more harm than good.

this issue would be serious is if was being practiced on 'soft' breeds, but it isnt. its done on breeds that were bred specifically to have high pain tolerance - terriers and guardian breeds.

i usually let people have their say about whatever and i dont say anything even if i disagree, but dog issues are always very close to my heart. or moreso, my knowledge ;)

However, humans are taken care of much differently by laws. When there's an overabundance of puppies and kittens in shelters just leads to a lot of them having to be put down. If pets are neutered/spayed a lot less animals will have to suffer from illness, malnutrition and possible death because of the lack of space to house them and care for them properly.

I never quite understood why some dog breeds are 'expected' to have their tails docked. I mean, other than aesthetic reasons (personally, I think dogs look better with tails), what reason is there to dock a dog's tail?

And what about ears? I understand some people want their dogs to have perky ears, but does it help the dog at all? I think whenever amputation is performed on a dog, it should be for health reasons only. Cosmetic amputation doesn't really make much sense to me.

Docking ears? OMG! Thats just as bad! Why is the human race insistent on controlling the looks of everything? Erg! People suck :(
